In my first year I studied a mixed approach to textile design. I worked with different disciplines, mixed media, knit, embroidery, weave, and print. I then specialised in embroidery, with elements of print, in my second and third year. I also study Design, Culture and Context every week, where I learn theory and contextual based ideas of textiles and fashion. I have produced an illustrated dissertation during my studies, the topic was concerned with how social classes define themselves within the fashion world. Whilst studying I have worked on live briefs with brands such as, Romo and Joules. During these projects I have received invaluable one-to-one feedback from these brands. I am mindful of sustainability factors when designing my fabrics, I enjoy researching sustainable ways I can produce my designs before I begin to create.

My work is strongly inspired by colour trends and theory. I aim to portray comforting moods within my collections and seek out ways in which I can promote emotional durability towards my fabrics. I believe that an emotional connection to one's fabrics can aid positive well being as well as reduce the need to waste or disregard fabrics.

I take the basis of my inspiration from the British countryside, to which I apply contemporary themes and trends to. This, I find, allows me to create exciting and innovative designs whilst also including traditional floral aspects.
